15-5 PH Nuts are nearly typically employed in opposition to a mating bolt. The bolt’s small stretch, the friction between the two partners’ threads, and the compression of the parts work together to keep the two partners joined.
Different locking systems, such as adhesives, safety pins or lock wire, nylon inserts, or threads with a slightly oval shape, may be used in situations where vibration or rotation could cause a nut to come loose.
